At Marga, our dream is to extend a helping hand to the people of Kamaltar. We want to help them break the vicious cycle of traumatic childhoods and abysmal living standards. With the help of our friends and volunteers from across the world, we aim to provide education and counselling to the children. We also aim to provide them with vocational training to create income-generation opportunities. Our center will provide a place for the villagers to share and enhance their skills. We believe that this will help many individuals to have successful careers in the future. This will also empower the community to overcome issues associated with alcoholism.
About Us
Origin
It was Sarala's dream to enhance the lives and careers of the members of her village community. She shared the rough draft of her plan with Dev. In March 2020, their discussions led to the plan of starting a project on her ancestral land in Gorkha. The coronavirus pandemic meant that they had to defer their plans. Meanwhile, they shared their vision with their friends and other contacts. Good Samaritans from across the world joined the effort. By the end of January 2021, the team was ready. WE ARE BUILDING
Kamaltar is a village in Nepal's central region around 145 kilometres from Kathmandu. It belongs to the Palungtar municipality of Gorkha District in Gandaki Pradesh. In spite of the claims that Palungtar will be Nepal's first Smart City, Kamaltar remains underdeveloped due to lack of education, orthodox beliefs and alcoholism. Medical sector is the bare minimum due to which a lot of localites lost their lives to diarrhea single handedly. Life expectancy is very low due to the people’s belief in superstitions.
